FixMyDocx is a free browser tool that removes section breaks and blank pages from Word documents. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your files and what little information the site handles. The short version: your documents never leave your computer, and we collect as close to nothing as a website can.
What We Collect
Your files are never uploaded. When you drop a .docx file onto FixMyDocx, all reading, analysis, and repair happen entirely inside your browser, in your device's memory. The file's contents are never sent over the network, never touch a server, and are never stored anywhere by us. When you close or reload the page, the file and everything derived from it are gone — there is nothing for us to keep, share, or lose.
We do not ask for your name or email address, there are no accounts or sign-ups, and we do not collect personal information of any kind through the tool itself.
Analytics
FixMyDocx may use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage — but only when the site operator has explicitly configured a GA4 measurement ID (the NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_ID setting) at build time. When it is enabled, Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as which pages are visited and the general type of device and browser used. It never has access to the documents you process, because those documents exist only in your browser's memory.
When no measurement ID is configured, this site does not load Google Analytics or any other analytics tool at all — no tracking scripts, no usage measurement of any kind.
Cookies
FixMyDocx itself does not set any cookies. The tool works without them, and there is no login state or preference to remember. The only cookies that may appear are those set by Google Analytics, and only in the case described above where analytics has been explicitly enabled. If analytics is not enabled, this site is cookie-free.
Changes to This Policy
If the way this site handles data ever changes — for example, if a new feature needs something this policy does not cover — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Since the site keeps no record of its visitors, publishing the updated policy here is the only way we can notify you, so check back if you want to stay current.
